Meet The Team - Introducing Katie

Now that we are up and running, we thought you might like to get to know the people behind Local Zero, so we are doing a series of weekly blogs to introduce our team.

First up we have the newest member of our team, Facebook Content Editor, Katie Henry. 

 

KATIE, TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOURSELF?

I have 3 crazy cats, who absolutely love me working from home now! I've worked in retail, and now I'm excited to be starting this new job, which is completely different to anything I have done before. I also have my own business, which I will be doing alongside this!

WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO JOIN LOCAL ZERO?

Like a lot of people, the pandemic hit quite hard, and during the first lockdown, I was made redundant. I pursued my own business, but due to restrictions and constant opening and closing of my sector, it was hard to make a proper go of it. Then Local Zero came about, and the opportunity was something I thought I could help with, and now here we are.

WHY DO YOU THINK LOCAL ZERO IS IMPORTANT?

Protecting the planet is a collective effort. Everyone can make small changes, and Local Zero is here to help making a small change even easier, and refillable products more accessible. It's convenient without compromising the mission. 

WHAT IS YOUR ROLE IN LOCAL ZERO?

I create content to post onto Facebook. Along with other members of the Local Zero marketing team, we research and create relevant content to share with you about Local Zero, our local business suppliers, sustainability and waste reducing hints and tips. We hope you enjoy what we post :)
