After a career in international banking, David wanted to make a positive difference in his local community. Inspired by his wife Denise’s passion for sustainability, he joined forces with friends Janie and Graeme to launch Local Zero during lockdown.
David enjoys connecting with like-minded customers who share his commitment to protecting the environment and supporting local businesses. He believes that small changes to everyday shopping habits can collectively make a big difference.

After leaving her long career in the design sector, Nicola found a new passion in sustainable retail. She loves getting to chat with customers about their sustainable journeys, helping them find what they need and keeping the shop looking its best.
As a lover of nature and animals, Nicola is passionate about making the world a greener and more sustainable place! She is always looking for new ways to keep our shop up to date with all the latest goods.
Holly Knight
Customer Service assistant
Holly joined the team in 2023, bringing enthusiasm for making sustainable, environmentally friendly choices for families in Hampshire.
She loves spending time in nature whether it's showing off her gardening skills or playing on the women's softball cricket team! For creative, sustainable ideas, Holly is a great place to start.
Francesca Hall
Customer service assistant
Francesca works part-time at Local Zero alongside studying for her A-levels. In her free time, she enjoys theatre, art and history.
She loves working at Local Zero because she cares about the future of our environment and enjoys chatting with all the lovely customers.
Francesca mainly works on Saturdays, but you might catch her covering the odd shift here and there if you’re lucky!
Libby Dix
Customer Service Assistant
Libby is a local hypnotherapist, personal estate agent and Membership Officer of Andover Musical Theatre Company. Once a month, she swaps her busy schedule to join the shop team! Libby is passionate about shopping locally and reducing waste.
Her favourite part is meeting interesting customers, sharing eco-friendly tips and swapping recipes and ideas.
Charlie Hall
Social media manager
Alongside her growing career as a counsellor, Charlie has been part of Local Zero since day one. Having started out as a Customer Service Assistant, she now shares our story, products and passion for sustainable living through our online platforms.
She is passionate about protecting the environment and inspiring small, everyday changes that make a difference.
